Many people think that SEO is too difficult and not worth the effort. This is not true, the basics of SEO are actually quite simple. 57.8% of all web visits come from Google. So if you have a website, SEO is definitely something worth learning.
Why is SEO important?
The majority of web traffic comes from natural Google search results.

Natural search accounts for more traffic than all other traffic sources combined。
Google and other search engines rank websites on hundreds more elements. SEO is important because it is the process of optimizing these elements and getting a website to rank higher in natural search results.
What are the benefits of SEO?
Getting high rankings is the biggest benefit of SEO, but rankings are really just a means to an end. Many of the real benefits of SEO are related to traffic.
1. SEO can bring more traffic
Since most people tend to click on the first few search results, ranking higher will usually drive more traffic to your site.

2. SEO can bring stable traffic
Ranking in search engines usually leads to passive, ongoing traffic. This is not the case for media such as social media and email marketing. These channels usually quickly fade to zero after reaching a peak in traffic.

This happens because social media networks are designed to showcase the freshest content. Emails are usually marked as read or fall into spam. However, since the number of searches performed on search engines is usually consistent from month to month, traffic tends not to change much after you get ranked.
3. SEO traffic is “free”.
Unlike paid advertising, search traffic is “free.”
This is important because advertising on search engines can sometimes be expensive.
Creating content that ranks in Google isn't free - but it's usually cheaper compared to paid advertising.
How do I join Google Rankings?
SEO can help you rank higher, but if Google doesn't even find your site, then you won't be able to rank.
Google will eventually find your site on its own, but there are two main benefits to submitting your site manually:
- Discover faster. Most new sites don't have outbound links to other sites, so it may take some time for Google to find your site.
- Improve your website. Google Search Console offers a lot of advice on how to improve and optimize your website.
The first step is.Submit your sitemap to Google.
A sitemap is a document that lists all the important pages on your website. You can usually find your sitemap by typing one of the following URLs into your browser:
website.com/sitemap.xml
website.com/sitemap_index.xml
If it doesn't exist, go to website.com/robots.txt and usually the sitemap will show up there as well.
If that doesn't exist either, then you probably don't have a sitemap.
Step two.is to create a free Google Search Console account and submit your sitemap.
